- חִרְחֵר(b. h.; Pilp. of חָרַר III) 1) to set twigs on fire for driving out the bees. Ukts. III, 11 משיְחַרְחֵר from the moment he smokes the bees out; (Maim.: he heats the honey-comb; Var. in Ar.: משיְהַרְהֵר). 2) (sub. ריב) to stir up strife. Cant. R. to VIII, 13 ולא חְחַרְתֲרוּ זה עם זה do not quarrel with one another. 3) to make hot with fever. Lev. R. s. 17, v. הִרְהֵר. Y.Kidd.I, 58c top מחרחרין מוזהרין, a cacography of מוזהרין; in ed. Amst. only מוזהרין.
